Queen of the Shore – Abigail Doan Environmental Artist

I’ve been looking at: The artwork of Abigail Doan. Abigail Doan is many things. She’s a writer, editor, and environmental artist in addition to being the mother of twins. She resides in both NYC and Europe. She creates “eco-textile and art farming projects are a means to create sustainable solutions and key visual links to the global challenges we collectively face.”
My imagination tells me she is many armed like Kali with whose gait spans the Atlantic Ocean. Before you say I’m crazy; take a look at her art work!
I have to say: I enjoy the combination of 3-dimensional fiber work, drawing, nature/ocean themes. Abigial’s work is imaginative, creative, scientific, and sensual. I like the idea of making biology sexy and exciting and although her work may not represent a specific species (well not one I can recognize anyway) it captures the essence of living organisms.
I also love visiting her blog to view not only her own artwork, but the work that excites and inspires her. Its very much the same idea I had creating this blog and its awesome to see a model that is not only working but working well.

As always thanks for reading!
